This is a wonderful little Jewel. It is a Foresters Past Chief Companion Jewel, probably from the 1930s.
C of F of A seems to be Companions Of The Forest Of America.
But this specific group, if there was a specific group, seems to have changed it's name over time or at least evolved.
The eye of the stag is an actual stone and was set by hand.
Lots of detail worked by hand |
The enameling is wonderfully detailed and in perfect condition |
This belonged to an A. Schiller, I believe from Cleveland |
Eye. Awesome.
Anyway, I think this is from the 1920s or 1930s because of the construction methods, the box it came in, and because that form of the name of the group. If anyone has better info, please let me know. This jewel is 2.25" by 1.15" and weighs 8 grams. It is 10k gold.
relative amount I paid for this - low
As of 2/19/14 the gold scrap value works out to about $142
However, none of these are for sale.
